I was here on a business trip for about 25 days. For a budget hotel in a small city, you can't expect too much. The staff were polite and friendly, and having a microwave in the room was a good idea since I could easily heat up meals from the convenience store. Honestly, the WiFi was terrible. If it had been good, I'd have given five stars without hesitation.
There are plenty of good hotels and inns around here, and it has that hot spring resort feel. A Lawson is only a few minutes away on foot, and a search turned up several restaurants nearby. I also appreciated having a microwave in my room. I was traveling alone by motorcycle and called ahead to ask about parking. They said there was no dedicated parking, which left me wondering what people do if they arrive by car. They told me to leave my motorcycle by the entrance, sticking out a little onto the sidewalk. Mine's a 250cc standard bike, and even with careful parking there was only room for two motorcycles. I booked that day and got a single room without meals or a bath, just a shower, sink, and toilet. It was my first time in a Bataan room, but it worked out fine. The price seemed reasonable for the accommodation.
It's close to a convenience store, so I'd be happy to stay again if I get the chance. The bathroom and toilet were clean and easy to use, too. I couldn't figure out the microwave, so I asked at reception. They came to my room to show me how it worked, which was a big help.
I was hoping to get a few more hours of sleep, but then a third mosquito showed up. I couldn't catch that one, and by then it was past 4AM, so I gave up and stayed awake. It wasn't even the middle of summer. I've stayed in business hotels plenty of times and never had such a miserable night. I don't know if there was an open window or what, but are they raising mosquitoes in these rooms? The first one buzzed right by my ear while I was asleep. I switched on the light and managed to kill it. About an hour later, I woke again to that awful sound near my ear and finally got the second one. It was 3AM.
The bed was uncomfortable and left me aching, just my personal opinion. 😅 There's no phone in the room either, so you have to go all the way to the front desk to ask for anything. The unit bathroom drain couldn't keep up, and water came back up from the main drainpipe. That was unpleasant. There isn't affiliated parking, so we used a nearby coin lot. I checked with the front desk to be sure, but the staff response was a bit questionable. Our air conditioner wouldn't turn on. We went to the desk and were told someone would come to the room. We'd taken our shoes off inside, but they walked in wearing theirs and went right to the middle of the room. That annoyed us. Their awareness, attentiveness, and manners were all unacceptable.
