The 11-course kaiseki dinner was a highlight, with excellent ingredients, interesting textures in some dishes, and really good pacing. The onsen is lovely and surrounded by nature, though it ran a little warm. Everyone was helpful, and they all spoke at least a bit of English. For the quality, the price felt very reasonable compared with other ryokan in the region. One of the best stays we’ve had.

The river views make the big outdoor bath and four private onsens hard to beat. I’ve stayed at pricier ryokans, but this one gave me the best value for the money.

Dinner and breakfast were both spectacular, and the rooms were amazing. The place is beautiful, the service was excellent, and I felt the stay was worth the cost.

It costs a fair bit, but I’m sure you can have an experience here that feels worth what you pay. If hot springs are your thing, you should come at least once in your life.
