I was a little nervous since this was my first stay, but the manager greeted me warmly and went over everything carefully. They leave at 5 p.m., so it’s best to arrive with time to spare. The property is tucked away in the mountains, so I’d do grocery shopping beforehand. The kitchen has all the basics, including pans, pots, knives, dishes, cups, and chopsticks, so we only needed to bring ingredients. I booked the BBQ without food included, but you can order ingredients separately if you’d rather skip shopping. The room has an adjustable-temperature open-air bath, which I really enjoyed. There’s also an indoor bath where hot spring water comes from the faucet.

We got to enjoy the hot springs both in the room’s open-air bath and in the indoor bath. The manager was courteous and left a good impression. At checkout, we put our trash, used sheets, and towels by the office. If doing things this way keeps the price reasonable, that works for me. It’s an inn focused on value over full service, and I think it’s a good place.

I found this place while looking for somewhere with an open-air bath for my girlfriend’s birthday. The stay was inexpensive, and a private BBQ was just 500 yen per person. There’s a supermarket nearby, so I picked up groceries. Now we’re ready to enjoy the BBQ and the open-air bath!

The manager was especially considerate and kind to us while we traveled with our three little kids, which made the trip a lot of fun. We booked a room with a private open-air bath, but the kids also wanted a BBQ despite it being winter, so we went for it. They’d told us about a nearby butcher in advance, and we had a great meal with different cuts of Izu beef and local vegetables. We’d happily come again, either as just our family or with friends and their family.

Having the hot springs available whenever I wanted and being able to enjoy some privacy made for a lovely stay. The open-air bath was amazing. I’ll come back during the warmer months and have a barbecue.
