Izunagaoka Onsen Futaba

There’s a private bath available, and it’s a nice, laid-back spot to enjoy Nagaoka onsen♨️

The room was spacious, with a big window looking out on greenery, and the neighborhood was quiet. We also really enjoyed the three onsens at the hotel. Everyone on staff was warm and attentive, always smiling. Breakfast was tasty and generous, and the chef kindly made us a different vegetarian option each day. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend it.

The staff were consistently polite and helpful, including when we asked about Laco x Ace. We drove about 15 minutes to the supermarket, picked up groceries, sushi, and fresh sashimi, then ate dinner in our room. The sushi and sashimi were especially good. We had reserved the Japanese-style breakfast but not dinner at the hotel. Our third-floor room was clean and cozy, and there were three bathrooms, one of which we could reserve for about 50 minutes. The hot spring had plenty of water. We really enjoyed our stay.

Breakfast was a highlight: fish, rice, miso soup, a runny egg, natto, salad, side dishes, and seaweed, with water and green tea. We ate in a cozy private room and had great service. The front desk staff member was very helpful and did her best with limited English. When my booking through Yahoo (Japanese) hadn't gone through, she let us book a room on the spot, and luckily there was space. You can reserve the onsen for your own party or use the shared hours, which are separated by gender. There’s one indoor pool and one outdoor pool, but no cold pool. There’s also parking for cars.
