The buffet was the best part for me, with plenty to choose from and food that tasted fresh. The hotel is in a great spot, and some rooms have really lovely window views. The rooms themselves are roomy enough, but they could use an overhaul. Once updated, they'd be much better. At least I slept comfortably, which is what matters.

I couldn't find a restaurant in the nearby town at 8pm on a Friday. The hotel itself feels old and badly in need of renovation, and it doesn't seem set up for non-Japanese tourists. Breakfast was OK, but there were no English signs for the food. My room was fine, though some things looked close to falling apart.

The dining hall is huge, big enough for a hundred people, and both dinner and breakfast were good. The hotel's setting against the mountains gives it a great view over Suruga Bay, which is a major advantage. Rooms have large tatami areas and free WiFi, plus balconies, and some also have two single beds. There's a fairly large outdoor pool too.

I was disappointed by the room: mold on the ceiling and walls, peeling wallpaper, and dust in some spots. The pool looked lovely but was closed because it wasn't swimming season. The setting is excellent, with great ocean views and sounds, and the service, onsen, and breakfast were all good.
