A good spot for the price, with a friendly owner and a stylish-looking bar. The futon was okay, though the pillows were only somewhat comfortable.

I left full, the servings were so generous. The food looked stylish and made me curious to try other dishes. They recommend getting a drink set if you’re staying for a while.

The lunch is a must if you stay here. The curry is mild enough for most people, but the spices still come through, and it’s delicious. In the hamburger curry, the patty is soaked in its juices and the vegetables stay crunchy, so the ingredients really stand out. The pickled radish on the side is good too. The crab and tomato cream pasta has a strong tomato taste, with a lovely crab flavor. The croffles with it are crisp and chewy, especially dipped in the sauce. The hot sandwich is a winner too, with melted cheese and a gentle flavor. I heard the coffee was good, but I was too full and had to pass, sadly. If I’m in the area again, I’ll stay over and have lunch again. We’re a family of four and stayed one night during Golden Week. We’d planned to sleep in the car, then looked for a hotel at the last minute. This one had same-day availability at a reasonable Golden Week price. There’s a bar next door, and the main entrance is on the left. The lights were off, but the owner came in and called out to us. It’s an old house, so the Japanese-style rooms have atmosphere, and the place was generally clean. The owner usually prepares food in the bar next door. The toilets and showers are shared but clean. Some reviews say he’s unfriendly and the service is poor, but he seems to run the inn, lunch spot, cafe, and bar by himself, so don’t expect lots of personal service. We were grateful to stay at such a reasonable price. The nearby main street makes it a little noisy, though as a Tokyo resident I didn’t find it too loud.
