Whale Okinawa

A nice spot to unwind and get a little taste of Okinawa. It’s up the coast from Naha, with a supermarket and American Village close by.

We could see US military fighter jets and helicopters nearby, which really appealed to my manly side. Despite Kadena Air Base being close, noise never kept us awake, and the soundproofing was excellent. The famous Blue Cave was only a 20-minute drive away, too. We stayed at Whale Okinawa on a family trip. It’s a detached house that used to be US military housing, with a different charm from a hotel. Time seemed to pass slowly there, and the stay felt refreshing. It can host a large group, and there are plenty of restaurants, drugstores, convenience stores, and supermarkets nearby, so getting around Okinawa was easy. We’d definitely stay at Whale Okinawa again. Thank you☆

The place felt like great value, almost suspiciously so lol. The interior was really stylish as soon as we walked in, and there were plenty of amenities, even Wi-Fi. I stayed with a friend, and with a car, getting to Naha or the ocean wasn’t a problem. I think it works better for a fun family or friend trip than for just two people. We lounged by the ocean for too long and missed our chance to barbecue in the big garden, which I regret. I’ll try again next time. I love Okinawa even more now, thank you!

The rooms are spacious and work well for a family or a bigger group. We were six colleagues, and since finding a hotel room for six is difficult, we stayed at Whale Hotel. There’s a convenience store nearby, so we had what we needed. The inside had been renovated and was very clean, even if the outside was a different story. I had been concerned about planes overhead, but with the windows shut, we couldn’t hear them at all. We also made plenty of noise in the room without getting scolded, which was good. I’d say it suits group or family trips more than couples or two people.
