I liked the baths, and the building itself is an old traditional one.

The food was really nice!

Dinner and breakfast were delicious, and I especially enjoyed taking my time over breakfast with the view. Some of the staff were friendly and smiling. When I arrived, the initial response was polite, including looking after my car, which left a good impression. Still, there were several problems with the facilities during my late-December stay in a detached building with an open-air bath. The Japanese-style room was quite cold, and there were issues with the room outlets and the heater in the changing room. They took a long time to sort out. Because of this, the open-air bath water was cool at night and hard to enjoy properly. The issue was still there the next morning, so I had to give up the morning bath I’d been looking forward to. For accommodation at this high a price, I think the response to facility problems and the explanation of what’s gone wrong could be improved. The food and atmosphere were excellent, and I hope they make improvements.

I went to Kagiyu for a day trip. The atmosphere was lovely, and the water felt very pleasant. It was a little hot, but there was a place to sit and soak just the lower half of my body, so I stayed there for quite a while.
