Business Hotel Tenmonkan Park - Hostel

The facilities are usable, but there’s no safe or refrigerator, and the Wi-Fi signal is too weak to reach the hotel. For a business stay, that means paying a lot in phone charges to prepare documents before a meeting, having nowhere to store things, and carrying extra luggage around. Then even after closing the deal, the beer still isn’t cold. Not great.

For a solo trip to Kagoshima, this place is an option, and the value is good! The facilities reminded me of a school club training camp, but they’re more than enough if you’re traveling alone and just need somewhere to sleep. You get a toothbrush, razor, hairbrush, and body scrub towel. Valuables go in your own locker. Showers and toilets are shared, and the rooms are large dormitory-style rooms. Bath towels are available to borrow. I plan to stay here again when I visit Kagoshima.

The bedding was new, fluffy, and comfortable, so this could work if all you need is a place to sleep. But there’s no refrigerator, electric kettle, or washlet. The shower in my room was broken. No matter how I adjusted it, I could only get cold or hot water, though the faucet itself was adjustable.

The sixth-floor dorm rooms were fine for me, and I didn’t notice the smell other people mentioned. Maybe it depends on the floor. The showers are small. For the low price, it’s a decent choice for a solo traveler.
