Okami was so kind, and helped us a lot with arranging our departure from Kagoshima international airport with our bikes. We had a wonderful stay at Ilca Guesthouse and completely recommend it. Thanks again 🙏 Our private room for 2 people was comfortable, convenient, and clean, and the common area was really enjoyable. The location was great too.

The owner was very, very nice and extremely helpful. There’s a small but very good izakaya downstairs on the first floor. Upstairs, the dorms are separated by guys on 2F and women on 3F. The common area and kitchen are nice and quiet. A nice little guest house / hostel.

The nearby Onsen, Kagomma onsen, is quite special in a Japanese way, and worth a try. Its spa water is great on your skin. This place is handy for visiting the Aquarium or catching ferries to Yakushima, Ibusuki, and elsewhere the next day. I loved the breakfast, the hospitality, and "the cat staffs" 😊

It’s quite far from Tenmonkan Shopping Street and Kagoshima Chuo Station, both popular tourist areas. Still, this is a cozy, well-maintained guesthouse, and the manager is so friendly. The izakaya downstairs is a fun place to spend time together.

The guest house was super clean and the reception was really nice. I arrived around 10am to leave my luggage, and the receptionist gave me some good tips on where to go and eat. Five stars well deserved.
