MIMARU Kyoto Station

Traveling with our baby and toddler, we found the hotel had lots of useful things to borrow, including a baby bath, soap, and bottle sterilizers. They also had items like phone chargers and hair straighteners, thoughtful extras that helped make our stay comfortable. The front desk team at Mimaru Kyoto Station are the best I’ve come across in all my hotel stays. They kept going out of their way to help us and make the trip as good as possible. I’ll recommend this hotel to anyone I know who’s visiting Kyoto.

This was my second stay at Mimaru Kyoto Station, and it was lovely again. The hotel is comfortable, convenient for walking to Kyoto station, and the rooms are large with comfortable beds and plenty of amenities. We’ll be back, and the team’s thoughtfulness and hospitality made the stay even better. One morning, when I was doing laundry, Ahn noticed the forecast called for very cold weather, with temperatures below 5 degrees, and gave us hand warmers. They came in handy. At checkout, the team gave us a thank-you card on a cute postcard. We’d spotted ants in a few parts of our room when we first arrived. It wasn’t a huge issue, but we let the front desk know and asked if they could do a thorough clean the next day. Ahn apologized and offered to clean it right away while we were out. She said it would be finished before we came back, and it was done within an hour. We didn’t see any more ants, the room smelled fresh, and the team left a handwritten apology. I really appreciated how quickly they fixed it.

We’ve tried both the Pokémon themed room and the connecting family apartment on our repeat stays here. Each worked well for our family of five, with enough space and views of the tracks. Laundry downstairs is always a plus when traveling with kids, and the staff are friendly, attentive, and willing to help with things like restaurant reservations. The location is hard to beat: Kyoto Station is directly across the street, and there’s a 7-Eleven right next door. It’s especially handy when catching an early train. This is one of our favorite places to stay in Kyoto.

Tenjo made our stay at the MIMARU Kyoto Station Hotel memorable. We were trying to find our restaurant inside Kyoto Station, and after giving us detailed directions, he came to find us there to make sure we were on the right route. We were traveling with a young child, so his care and concern meant a lot. We were floored by his kindness. Our stays at the MIMARU hotels in Osaka and Tokyo were just as good. The staff are thoughtful, and the hospitality feels rare these days. We’ll absolutely be back.
