Urbain Kyoto Kawaramachidori

We ended up using buses a lot to get downtown and to the station, especially routes 4, 17, and 205. We used Suica, though the Kyoto multi-day pass may be worth checking out. The JR Pass works for day trips to Nara, Inari, or Arashiyama. The room was clean and nicely presented, but our twin room was small. The mattress was a good size, with very little room around it, and the bathroom and tub were small too. We used the free washing machines and brought our own detergent. Breakfast was included, basic, but okay. The location is good. It’s a short walk to the river and the side canal covered in blossoms, then a lovely long walk up Ponto Cho, and a long walk back. All in all, a pretty good option.

The hotel feels nice and is new, with a good price for Kyoto. Its location is somewhere in between: not especially close to Kyoto station or the Gion area, but definitely not bad. Breakfast was very good and convenient.

Getting around was easy because there’s a bus stop very close by. The staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was good enough. A lovely little hotel, clean and beautiful. I’d definitely stay again.

The rooms were clean and a good size, and the hotel is well placed near Kyoto Station and the gardens. Every staff member was friendly and professional. Excellent hotel!
