Guest House Kamejikan

I picked Kamejikan for its proximity to the beach and Hatsuhinode coworking space, where I worked remotely. I met lots of friendly locals and guests at both places. Kamejikan has a special atmosphere, almost like living 100 years ago, which makes sense since, as the host told me, the building is about that old. I'm not especially sociable, but the hosts were really nice and easy to talk to. I enjoyed my stay. The one thing I'd have liked was a bit more cushioning on the futon, though that slight discomfort is part of staying somewhere traditional. I hope others appreciate the place as it is.

We loved this guesthouse. It's beautifully decorated and thoughtfully put together, and you can feel how much care has gone into every detail. Such an inspiring place, and a thoroughly delightful stay. Highly recommend.

My stay was OK. All the shared rooms are mixed, and the traditional futons are really uncomfortable. The place itself is cute, though the owners were so-so. It's three minutes from the beach and close to a bus station.

Guest house Masa made the place cozy and comfortable, and different events can happen there. I joined my first morning beach yoga session, which was really interesting. At night I enjoyed their house-brewed fruit wine. It's in the quiet Zaimoukuza neighborhood, not right beside Kamarura station, but close to a bus stop and the beach. Restaurants, a supermarket, cafe, bakery, and public bath are all within walking distance. A very decent traditional Japanese house experience.
