My room was clean and had a homey feel. It’s also close to the single-person lift up to the ski slopes. They even helped dig my car out of the snow.

I haven’t stayed yet, but the reviews have made me want to book when I go skiing or snowboarding. Is the inn close enough to walk to the ski resort? My child has never tried skiing or snowboarding, and I’m looking for a resort and reasonably priced place to stay within driving distance.

Before the 2022 OSJ KAMI 100, I spent the night here. The eldest son runs a construction company, while the third son manages the inn and puts together seasonal newsletters about Hachikita. There’s a large parking lot out front. The lounge area had a wood stove and bar counter, which gave it a relaxing feel, though the fire wasn’t lit. Some parts of the inn have been renovated, and it was generally clean. The bathroom was a bit small. We had Tajima beef sukiyaki for dinner, with the cooking instructions laid out on the table, a thoughtful touch. Rice refills are self-service. The staff checked in on us regularly, which made the stay feel relaxed.

I’ve stayed here in both winter and spring. The indoor Toryu-sen (Hachikita Radon Hot Spring) was clean, had all the amenities, and came with lovely towels. It moisturized my skin and warmed me from the inside out. The food was delicious too, with seasonal vegetables and Tajima chicken hot pot in a tasty broth. It was my first time having mountain vegetable tempura so crisp and delicious. The homemade miso and eggplant were really good as well (^^).
