The food at Stella Pension was amazing, with some of Japan's most popular dishes on offer. The family who run the place were warm and friendly, and they made sure the stay felt memorable. It's a distinctive place in the area, with Western-style rooms that comfortably sleep up to four people. The shared bathrooms and toilets downstairs were clean and well equipped. There's a large outdoor hot spring, plus a small indoor tub near the wash area. The roomy entrance also has space for storing skis and boots.

The meals were all delicious, and I was really satisfied. Everything in the pension was clean, the rooms were warm thanks to underfloor heating, and we could use an open-air bath. I stayed here for snowboarding at Zao Onsen Ski Resort. A kind older couple runs the pension, and they have a friendly dog too.

After staying at Apron Stage last time, I came to Stella this time. It was reasonably priced and convenient. The new indoor bath was easy to use, while the outdoor bath was a little warm, which could suit people who like longer soaks. The food was simple, as the picture shows, but tasty. The owner's wife was very attentive, and the room heating worked well. Thank you ♪

This pension has a warm feel, from the building to the people. I was there during a severe cold wave and heavy snowfall, but the underfloor heating kept me so warm I could sleep in short sleeves. I chose the steak course for dinner and was very glad I did. The side dishes were delicious too. They also have an interesting discount policy for vintage cars, sports cars, and motorcycles. Each room has its own indoor and outdoor bath, which you can reserve for 40-50 minutes. The indoor bath is small, about family-sized, with only one shower, so it could feel awkward for friends or opposite-sex parents and children to use together.
