Rakuten STAY VILLA Kamogawa

The house was a great choice for a get-together with my daughter and grandchildren, especially since I’d accidentally booked the wrong date and they came along with me. It’s detached, so I didn’t have to worry about the kids getting noisy. The turnoff was a little beyond the highway, but the place was easy to find. We picked up groceries at a local supermarket on the way, where there was a good range of prepared food. The fried squid rings were delicious. The shower had amazing water pressure, even though the bath itself was an artificial hot spring. I’ve stayed in a few places with my dog, and this one had the best facilities. I’d like to arrange another girls’ get-together and enjoy ourselves again.

The projector and sauna made it easy to have a good time indoors, even with the heavy rain keeping us from using the dog run. We especially enjoyed winding down together in the evenings with videos on the projector. There were eight adults and our dog, but the room was roomy enough that nobody felt crowded. We felt safe staying there with our dog, and the facilities made for a satisfying stay despite the weather. Next time, I’d like to use the dog run on a sunny day.

With 12 people, having toilets on both the first and second floors meant we never had trouble with people needing them at the same time. The BBQ was on the third floor, though, and the stairs were quite hard for my elderly parents. We ordered the BBQ for six, but bought extra food at a nearby supermarket, so we barely ate what was provided and took some home. Next time we might skip the meal.

The living room was spacious enough for the kids to run around, even with two families totaling 10 people. The villa is rented as a whole and has lots of amenities, including a rooftop barbecue area, a telescope, and a sauna in the bathroom.
