The location makes it easy to visit sights on foot and get out early in the morning. I also like that you can choose an English newspaper. At the department store connected to the hotel, sushi is discounted before closing time. I stay here often for business as an IHG member, and the service is excellent. Breakfast is about what you’d expect from a Japanese business hotel, with salads, fruit, and Japanese dishes that are above average. There are several egg options, including omelets, though I wouldn’t recommend the poached eggs.

Breakfast had plenty of choice and was very good, with the chef making omelets fresh. The staff were kind and helpful. Rooms are small, as they are in hotels across Japan, but clean. For the location, atmosphere, and food, the price feels worthwhile. There’s a mall downstairs with interesting shops and bookstores. The hotel is elegant and close to the station, a maximum 10-minute walk. It’s opposite the famous market, and traditional tourist spots are about 15 minutes away on foot. A taxi to the station costs 800-900 yen, or 5 euros/dollars. I recommend it for a stay in town.

The breakfast dining room staff deserve a special mention. They were warm, attentive, and efficient each morning, making breakfast a smooth and pleasant start to the day. For an older establishment, the hotel is fabulous. Throughout my stay, the staff were consistently attentive and efficient, and they made me feel valued as a returning guest. The hotel’s focus on quality service and recognition of loyalty made the visit comfortable and very enjoyable.

The rooms are a good size, and although they have an older style, they have all the features you need. It’s a nice hotel near the market and not too far from the station.
