I had a pleasant stay and would consider coming back, though I’d look at other places first. It’s fairly close to the station, the staff are really friendly, and the place is clean with great facilities. One issue is that the women’s four-bed room is right next to the kitchen, and I heard from people staying there that you can hear everything from the kitchen. There also weren’t enough blankets for the cold nights I was there, and I wasn’t the only one who felt that way.

Kanazawa was one of my favorite cities in Japan, and I loved visiting it. The station was an easy, quiet walk away. When I stayed in 2015, the hostess helped me plan visits to local places and sort out a bus to Shirakawago. One evening, students came by to practice their English with the guests.

There’s English guidance all over, so you don’t need to worry about not knowing Japanese. Just remember to get the main door password if you’ll be out late, or you’ll have to call the owner. It’s newly built, close to Kanazawa Station, and the price is very cheap. Had a nice stay here, enjoy!

We came for the Marathon, but the owners weren’t helpful or considerate. The facilities weren’t enough, and the sanitary conditions need improvement. Our room was overcrowded, with too little space and not enough toilets. A very poor experience.
