Hotel Forza Kanazawa

We were comfortable here for our 4 nights in a Comfort Double. The room worked for a short visit, though for a longer stay we’d probably choose a Twin Room for the extra seating. It was super clean, and the bed was comfortable. We slept well with a choice of two pillows, firm or soft. The guest amenities were adequate, but not as special as what we’ve had at other brands, especially Royal Park Canvas hotels. We liked the modern design and helpful staff. The hotel is on the main road toward the station, about a 10-minute walk away. Across the street is the fish market, and we walked to Kanazawa castle park in about 20 minutes. The toilet is separate from the bathroom, which is a proper Japanese wet area with a power shower and bathtub. We’d stay here again on a return trip to Kanazawa.

The tourist loop bus stops right outside, and the main sightseeing areas are a short bus ride or walk away. The hotel is on the main road to Kanazawa station. Our double room was a good size, with a lovely bathroom and a whole body shower. There’s a breakfast selection with something for every taste, and the lobby machine makes complimentary coffee and hot chocolate that are excellent. Service was polite and efficient. A lovely hotel, thoroughly recommended.

The only thing I missed was an onsen. Otherwise, this was my favorite hotel from my 63 days in Japan, and the best hotel ever. It’s in a great location, and the staff are always polite, eager to help, and really helpful. Breakfast was delicious, with a wide range of dishes. If you ask in advance, they can even provide a large, tailor-made allergen-friendly breakfast.

I was happy with the breakfast, too. It’s Japanese-style, with lots of choices, and staff seat you, so go early. I just wish there were more hot dishes. Apart from the soups, everything else was cold. The matcha latte option on the lobby machine was greyed out, which made me sad. This hotel is a gem, and the rooms are the biggest I’ve seen in Japan so far. The toilet is separate from the shower and vanity. There was a foot massager, socks to use with it, and a humidifier, though we couldn’t figure out how to use that. I was sick during the trip, so I was glad there was a box of tissues for blowing my nose instead of having to use toilet paper. The amenities were great, including cleansing cream and moisturizer. If I visit Kanazawa again, I’ll definitely book here for more nights.
