The location made getting around easy by bus, and several museums and the garden are close by. Walking to some of Kanazawa's main sights can take a while. I'd give the location 4.7. The owner was friendly, spoke decent English, and was always happy to help. They seem to be the only staff member, but that wasn't a problem. I was surprised by how much technology the owner had installed, including an automated toilet, lights, sinks, and trash can. Service gets 4.7 from me. The traditionally made Japanese rooms were nice, with the usual hotel amenities and kimonos provided. I'd rate the rooms 4.5. If I could, I'd give the place a 4.6, but since that's not an option, it gets five stars. My one suggestion is to have more cameras, perhaps, rather than only one at the front door.

We had to cancel because of an inconvenience, and the owner was kind and decisive, helping us with everything. It's a shame, since we liked the room and the staff were so kind. Thank you for everything.

The owners were charming and helpful, and made us feel very welcome as foreigners. They went out of their way to help us have a lovely visit. It's a family-run ryokan just off the main street, with a fantastic location close to everything. You can book just a room or choose meal packages, from breakfast only to full board. We plan to return after Covid19 is over, and stay longer than three nights next time.

The owners are wonderful and go out of their way with useful information, suggestions for food and sightseeing, and help to keep you comfortable. The ryokan is affordable for budget travelers, and sightseeing is especially convenient from here, right in the centre of town and only a few minutes' walk from Kenrokuen. We'll definitely come back.

The host and his family were lovely. They don't speak much English, but they do their best, and I think they'll understand right away if you try a little Japanese. I couldn't fault them and would highly recommend staying here. It's a wonderful ryokan, about 5 to 10 minutes from the main road and local sights like Kenroku-en garden, kanazawa castle and ruins, and the 21st modern art gallery. I'll definitely come back! ^-^
