Hotel Soyokaze

We stayed with our pet and were extremely happy with everything. The room was spotless, and the large public bath was clean, roomy, and very pleasant. The food was especially good, with the feel of a high-end restaurant but none of the stiffness. Staff brought each course at just the right time, so we could enjoy the meal and have a nice conversation. Their kindness stood out most, including how naturally they spoke with us and our pet.

The hospitality was what stayed with us most. The staff were so kind to us and our two dogs. We visited at the end of the year for two nights, and the room’s terrace and view bath made it easy to relax. We were welcomed with a drink in the lounge, where there was also evening happy hour. The meals were elaborate, with appetizers, soup, fish, meat, and dessert, and the menu changed each night. We enjoyed everything, including the wine pairing. On the first evening we ordered a cheese platter, couldn’t finish it, and enjoyed the rest in our room. The hotel’s signature cassoulet stew on the second night was delicious but so filling that we had to leave some, which I felt bad about. Breakfast started the day on a luxurious note, with different egg dishes each morning. We also loved the basement public bath. It was bigger than expected, open all day and night, and warmed us right through. Hoshino Onsen is nearby, and the outlet mall is around a 15-minute drive away. The hotel is on a hill, so take care on snowy roads. I’d like to come back when the breeze is pleasant. Thank you for looking after us!

I visited with my second dog this time. Since it was my first hotel stay, I was a little nervous, but my dog had a wonderful trip. I was also deeply touched by the thoughtfulness you showed in memory of my previous dog, who passed away this year. The food was as satisfying as ever, and it was a lovely way to end the year. Thank you so much. I’ll stay here again, and hope to see you then.

The location worked well for us, and we enjoyed being close to Onidashien. The place was clean and well kept, with no unpleasant smells, and the staff were warm and friendly. They even spoke to and petted our dog, Kowloon. I’ve traveled around Japan with my dog and have had places completely ignore him, so their kindness here meant a lot to me. The food was delicious too, and the staff were very professional about when they brought and cleared the dishes. I’d definitely like to stay again.
