Nick, the owner, made the whole stay unpleasant, from check-in through checkout. We arrived at 8 pm on check-in day, and he acted like checking us in was a chore instead of his job. His wife and Sato were very kind, and I can't say a bad word about either of them. I've stayed in plenty of lodges like this and usually found the hosts helpful. The accommodation is basic, as you'd expect for what you pay, but Nick's attitude left a sour taste in my mouth.

There are lots of shared spots to hang out, and we really enjoyed our time at their lodge. Nick and Hiro are fantastic hosts, friendly and helpful, and great to chat with. The rooms were clean, tidy, and spacious. I'd highly recommend staying here, and Hakuba in general.

Our room had what we needed and was big and warm. The Powder Lodge was recommended by a friend, and it was a nice stay. Lots of people there were friendly, family-oriented or couples, and most seemed to be returning guests. There's a huge commercial-size shared kitchen and plenty of rooms to sit and enjoy the views of Hakuba. We'll stay again!

The hosts were amazing, happy to help and share what they know and have experienced. Everything was extremely clean and comfortable, and the facilities were great. I'll recommend the Powder Lodge to friends and family.

The owners are kind, helpful, and fun to be around. They make a beautiful place to share with guests, living alongside you and swapping tips and stories.
