The onsen tub was just what we needed after a long day on the trail. The staff were so helpful, arranging transport to Oze National Park and walking us through the routes, including hike times and when the last bus back ran. They also handled our vegetarian needs for both dinner and breakfast really well, and everything worked for us. A great place to stay if you're hiking in Oze. I'd be happy to come back on a future trip.
The meals were delicious, and the friendly service had the comfortable feel of visiting your grandma, uncle, or aunt's house. There's a nice onsen and an ohtello board, too. The inn is close to the bus stop, with buses going to Oshimizu for Ozenuma and Hatomachitoge for Ozegahara. I'd recommend it for a trip to Oze!
It's in a very quiet area, but we didn't mind since the hotel had everything we needed. The buses to the marsh and the train station are really close. The owner was lovely and helped us plan our day at Oze Marsh, then made us bento for the walk. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Such a charming little gem.
The bath was spotless, with slippery alkaline water, and big enough for about three people. I felt relaxed throughout the stay, helped by the women's refreshing smiles and the well-kept, wood-filled interior. The side dishes using local ingredients were tasty, and even the fried shrimp tails were edible. But the rice served from a wooden container was so good I wanted to finish it all. I'd love to stay again.
The staff's warm hospitality turned my trip to Oze into a wonderful memory. I'll definitely go back.
