I stayed the night before taking part in the Joshu Hotaka Sky View Trail140. Dinner was generous, with lots of different ingredients and even dessert. Since I checked out around midnight the next day, they prepared a lunch box with a message for me. The manager got up to see me off. Thanks to them, I finished the race. It was my first time in the area, and I’d like to visit again.

We came as a big group, and there was a separate building where we could party late into the night. The barbecue food was delicious, so it made for a great stay. I liked that the owner was quiet and kept to himself rather than being pushy.

The owner’s manner was awful and overbearing, and I don’t want to stay here again. The inn itself wasn’t especially clean either. When I asked for a ride to the nearest station, he only took me to the closest bus stop. Getting there took an hour and cost 1,500 yen.

The food was made with care and tasted delicious. Thanks as well for the friendly service. I’m looking forward to coming back.

It’s miserable in here during summer days! Even at a mountain lodge, with global warming, we really wish they’d put in air conditioning.
