Ryokan Matsumuraya

The town is really cute and full of history, and the clock tower is only a 3-minute walk from the hotel. We had a fantastic stay, with a great room and excellent service. The host and staff were wonderful, and the location was the best part. There’s also a private onsen, which was absolutely useful. We highly recommend this place.

The futons were so comfortable that we all slept well and felt recharged for exploring. Our room was spacious, very clean, and had its own toilet and sink. Since we were traveling as a family, we could reserve the onsen and shower spaces in advance that day. We also enjoyed the amazing breakfast during our two nights here in January. The owner and staff were so hospitable, helpful, and always seemed genuinely happy to see guests. The location is very central to the Kawagoe Bell Tower. Just be careful on the steep steps. Otherwise, it was a wonderful stay.

After 19 hours of flying from the USA, we were exhausted, and this inn made a lovely retreat. The bus drops you right at the door. They tidied our room every day, and the rolled mat bedding was soft and comfortable. The shower worked well, and I arranged to use a private sauna and hot tub.

The room was cozy, and I loved it. You can leave your luggage there before check-in, which was handy. Breakfast was amazing, and the staff were so nice and helpful despite our limited Japanese. The location is great too, right across from the bus stop and very close to all the famous spots. Absolutely recommend this place.
