There’s plenty nearby, including Lawson and 711 about a two-minute walk away, plus bike rentals, restaurants, and gift shops. The owners were really friendly. One of them noticed I was a woman and carried my luggage upstairs for me, though I felt bad since he was so much older than me. I thought the room was clean, and my daughter, who has sensitive skin, was fine there. We could just stay in the room and see Mount Fuji 🗻.

A handy spot for a short visit to explore the Fuji area, close to the bus station. We could leave our luggage before or after check-in while looking around. Our room didn’t have a private toilet, which was on the same floor, but that worked fine for us. The onsen has a great view. Recommend!

For a short stay, it’s decent value. The location is good, and our room was clean and fine. The Onsen view is amazing. There are some downsides: sound carries easily, and people smoke right in front of the hotel with the doors open. The smell then drifts up the stairs and into the building. The receptionist was okay, though a bit cold by Japan standards.

A public bath is a nice perk, especially on autumn days. We had a real Japanese ryokan hotel experience here. The room was compact but had what we needed. The mattress felt a little soft, while the blanket was wonderfully cosy.

The taxi service was excellent, and the transit area was well organised with helpful staff. There are luggage lockers, restrooms, a gift shop and nearby places like Lawsons and 7/11, along with local food stalls, ice cream and restaurants if you have time. Bike rentals are also popular and not far away. If it’s your first visit, get there early so you can find the right place to wait for your bus or train. Lines can get long at busy times, including for the restrooms, and seating is limited, especially when it rains.
