Izu Imaihama Tokyu Hotel

The kids had a clean, fun beach to enjoy, and there was a playroom to keep them busy at other times. We ate breakfast at the buffet both mornings, and my older child really liked it. The selection was decent and the food was good quality. Staff were constantly helpful and made the trip more enjoyable. Our room was nice, especially the baby crib, and the simple pool was pleasant too. Everything exceeded our expectations. We can't wait to come back.

The sea was close by, and the first floor had hot springs plus vending machines with alcohol, milk, other drinks, and ice cream. From the room, we could see an amazing view and hear the ocean as we fell asleep. Everything was clean and well equipped, even a humidifier was provided. I stayed more than one night, and when I left my trash outside and skipped room cleaning, the hotel offered some perks. I thought that was a great policy. A lovely place for a honeymoon or a holiday. Don't miss the souvenir shop, either.

The onsen was quiet and the water temperature felt just right. Lockers were available for belongings. I also really enjoyed the traditional Japanese dinner, which was generous, with excellent service. I stayed one night in February 2026 during a four-night BEYOND TOKYO tour with All Japan Tours. The room was spacious and gorgeous, with a lovely sea-facing balcony, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. Toiletries were supplied, including a travel toothbrush and toothpaste, razors and shaving cream. We also had slippers and a yukata for the onsen, plus a mini fridge, kettle, green tea, and two bottles of drinking water. Tap water in Japan is very safe to drink.

The beach, room view, and service were all great. Breakfast had an okay range overall, though vegetarian choices were limited. The snack shop stays open late. The shuttle goes from the hotel to the nearest station, but check that its timing works with your train. Trains come about once an hour, and there aren't many places to sit at the station, especially when it's rainy and crowded. The pool is only open for use in summer.
