The private onsen was just right for unwinding, and the view from the room was breathtaking. You can see Sakurajima when the weather is good. Our welcoming host served us traditional Japanese tea and a simple but delicious breakfast.

The view of the surrounding countryside from bed in the morning was indescribably beautiful. Our hosts were incredibly caring, dinner was delicious, and there was a wonderful earth-water bath along with laundry facilities.

#HealingSpaceTajima accepts just one group per day. When we checked in on 20240525, we found a pale yellow exterior and a fragrant wood scent inside. From the spacious common area and kitchen, to the clean, comfortable bedding in the bedroom, the place felt welcoming. Outside, there are wide fields, and on a clear day Sakurajima is visible in the distance. We had exclusive use of the natural Kirishima hot spring, which was at 70 degrees. Mr. Tajima speaks excellent English and made us a delicious breakfast the next morning so we'd have energy for our hike.
