Guesthouse Hikobae - Vacation STAY 13657v

We stayed here in November 2024 with our dog, and it felt much more like being at home than staying in a hotel or inn. Locking up when we went out and letting ourselves back in was so familiar, and I was really happy with the setup. We went around Nishiwaga Town in mid-November, while the autumn leaves were still at their peak. It was lovely to be able to say "I'm leaving" and "I'm home." This time it was my wife, daughter, the dog, and me. Next time I'll bring my sons too.

The room, kitchen, and bathroom were all clean, and we had a really relaxing stay. The owner was very welcoming even though they were injured. It was quiet at night, with beautiful stars and an almost full moon. My wife and our kitten were delighted, too. I think it would be lovely here during cherry blossom season. I'd like to come back if I get the chance.

The river view from the lodging was beautiful, and the room was spacious and comfortable. There was kitchenware available for cooking, or we could choose to specify food instead. My wife and I stayed in April, when the cherry blossoms were blooming, though by the time I arrived most of them had sadly fallen. The owner kindly drove us to a spot tucked among the hills where some blossoms were still out. Since I'm not Japanese, we communicated through a translation app, but the owner was always smiling and treated my wife and me with such warmth and care, almost like family. The stay and hospitality left a strong impression on me. Thank you for looking after us so well. I definitely hope to return someday.

On my second visit, I spent ages watching the winter scenery along the Kitakami River from the window. The renovated bedroom has a tasteful feel, and I slept really well. In the morning, the owner made salad and bread with local vegetables. I ate every bit. I'd love to come back when I need a relaxing stay.
