Kitakami Hotel Shirayuri

I booked a room-only stay on Rakuten Travel on the day I arrived. The front desk staff were very courteous, and I appreciated being able to park free on the premises. The shared kitchen and toilets were clean and easy to use. The large public bath isn't a hot spring, but it's roomy and convenient. I'd like to come back by motorcycle in the summer.

The hotel is a little old, but seems well looked after, and I was happy with the value. The front desk staff were incredibly helpful. There isn't a separate bath and toilet in the room, but with a large communal bath available, I don't mind that at all.

After a day on the road, the large public bath was bigger than I expected and helped me relax. The toilets are shared, though everything at the inn was very clean. I'll stay here again when I'm in Kitakami. I was touring by motorcycle and could park in a sheltered place right by the entrance. The owner, or perhaps the proprietress, was very kind. Dinner was a set meal with an extra dish, and a medium bottle of beer cost only 500 yen. It's a good fit for a solo traveler who isn't looking for anything fancy.

The room was let down by hair scattered around, including on the pajamas, TV stand, floor and bed. That's a shame, because the front desk service was so good. There's a small selection of Kitakami sweets for sale. There are several parking spots behind the property. The toilet, sink and bathroom are shared. The bathroom is a unit bath with an internal lock, and shampoo and body soap are supplied. You can stretch your legs out in the tub. A notice about paying for toothbrushes came with a letter about reducing waste.
