A handy, inexpensive shared room. It has a curtained bed, refrigerator, shower, and toilet, so I recommend it.

Great location and a decent-sized bed, but the wifi is awful, so good luck trying to work remotely. They only serve drinks, no food, though that’s not a big deal with Lawson a one-minute walk away.

The lounge is spacious, and there’s a kitchen you can use for free. It’s also in a great spot, about 10 minutes on foot from kokura station and 5 minutes from Kokura castle. The rooms are quite big, and the bed was cozy, comfortable, and clean. Staff were very friendly, and the shower and toilet were clean too. Hot water takes a while to come through in the shower, but there’s a notice about it.

The room felt like a cell, with high windows you couldn’t reach or look out of, though the mattress was very comfortable. The biggest disappointment was cleanliness: the floor and corners were dirty and cluttered, and the carpet in the elevator was filthy. The shower and toilet cubicles were tiny, with barely room to turn or hang clothes and towels. Since they share a space and are a long walk from the room, you have to get dressed in the shower. Check-in was smooth and the staff attitude was five stars. We could leave our bags before the 3 pm check-in while exploring, then again after checking out at 11 am while walking to Kokura Castle. The hostel is a 10-minute walk from Kokura Station, with Tanga Market, a shopping street, and Pachinko just around the corner. The night scene is lively, with lots of Yakiniku and Izakaya nearby.
