Staff were good and very efficient with arranging luggage transfer at checkout, which made things much easier. I spent three nights here during November 25, and the budget hotel was worth every cent. It's right next to the main Kokura Station, handy whether you're arriving by train or by ferry from Tokyo. There was a free bus from the port to Kokura station. My Double Room with Small Double Bed wasn't big, but it was fine for me and had everything I needed, including a fridge and microwave. The bed was very firm, which is common in Japan, and the compact bathroom was clean. There's a drinks vending machine on the ground floor, and with this location there are also plenty of convenience stores a few minutes away on foot.

The room was quiet, clean, and adequate for the price, and the staff were professional and organized. It's extremely convenient for Kokura station, possibly the next building over, with lots close by: a 7 11 right outside, plus bakeries, restaurants, bars, and other amenities. We couldn't check in early, though they did store our bags. I hadn't expected the additional 400 Yen accommodation tax, though maybe I missed it. The bed was a bit small for two.

NOT recommended. It's cheap and clean, that's about it. The front desk service was awful. I asked to borrow an umbrella, and the staff member said, "Only if you can return it, I can lend you." He didn't hand me one, so I asked again. He said, "hey dude, don't you see its at the entrance?" That's when I understood guests could take any umbrella from the storage at the entrance. How would anyone know that rule? When I asked to leave my luggage, he didn't give me a receipt either. I'll never, never, never stay at this LIVEMAX hotel chain again!

It's a simple hotel, and the rest was fine. The machine check-in was a hassle, though. I prefer having a real receptionist.

If you want a nice trip in Kokura, don't come here. You'll feel disgusted all day. Maybe not all the workers, though.
