Urabandai Pension Yamabiko

We stayed two nights and really enjoyed the meals, with both fish and meat dishes. The food is excellent for what you pay. The bath isn’t a hot spring, though. If you’re going skiing, it may be worth checking whether guests can get a discount at the ski resort.

We’re in our seventies, and as a couple we had a wonderful dinner and bath. The beef stew was so tasty that I went back for more, and there was plenty to fill me up. The owner was very warm and shared lots of interesting things with me. I’m looking forward to our drive today~ ("⌒∇⌒")

The food was tasty and the price felt fair. The inn is run by a really kind couple, and we had a relaxing stay. Bathing is available from check-in until 9 AM, so we could take our time with a morning soak. We came in winter this time, and I’d like to see the place in another season too.

Our family of three stayed after the Obon holidays and got a second-floor room meant for four. It was bigger than we expected. Even at night, a slightly open window and the fan kept us comfortable and cool. The old wooden log cabin feels sturdy, though the stairs creak a bit. We also found the bath spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed being surrounded by nature, with several well-known confectionery shops and lakes nearby. The price was very reasonable, the meal was filling, and we came away with lovely memories.
