Hotel Liberal -Adults Only

The room was large, clean, and well equipped, and Liberal’s staff were excellent. There was a fridge and water machine in the room, plus a free communal drinks bar at the entrance, better facilities than I’ve seen in other love hotels. The quality was higher than the rate I’d usually pay for one. They seem to advertise as LGBTQ+ friendly, though I can’t speak from personal experience. The location worked well for Kobe, with good connections to the main areas, close to the jazz bars north of Sannomiya station and only a short walk up a slight hill from the station. A few things to know before booking: this is a love hotel, with late check-in from 9:30 onwards and late checkout at 12 to compensate. It’s designed for “short stays,” with an emphasis on privacy, and may have rules about booking multiple days. If that’s an issue, choose somewhere else. If you’re comfortable with it, the larger room, soundproofing, light blocking, double person bath, and usually lower rate than other hotels can be benefits. We weren’t given a room key. The door locked from inside, but when we went out we had to ask staff to lock it, tell them how long we’d be away, and ask them to unlock it when we got back, which wasn’t ideal. For a single night in Kobe, it’s a good option if you’re okay with the late check-in and love hotel setup.
