Kobe Marriott Hotel

The lounge was a nice extra, with a great view of the station, snacks, and free pour beverages. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed. They also greeted us with birthday wishes because it was my husband’s birthday that week, which made the stay feel special. The location was excellent. We walked to the pier area and to lots of restaurants near the station. A taxi to shin-Kobe took just 15-20 minutes.

The room was clean, comfortable, and nice, and we’d be happy to stay here again. We did have to wait about 10-15 minutes for our key after arriving. The room was quite warm. I called the front desk, and a housekeeping manager came to help. He apologized sincerely and explained that the building has central temperature control, so they couldn’t switch it to air conditioning. He brought us a fan and an air purifier, which we really appreciated. His service was excellent. He seemed to be a foreign staff member. I didn’t ask his nationality, but his name was Santosh, possibly Spanish. It was our second time in Kobe, and since the city finally has a Marriott property, we decided to stay here.

The restaurant is on the 17th floor, with amazing views and a beautiful mountain backdrop. The staff were warm and friendly, and the whole hotel felt fresh and clean, like it had just opened. It’s surrounded by shopping, including Umie and Mosaic, and you can get there from Osaka by JR. The location is convenient. I’m looking forward to coming back in Mar.

The location is excellent, and my room was clean and comfortable. Staff were polite and seemed to be trying hard. I’d consider coming back. I’d seen a lot of negative comments before booking, and after my stay some felt unnecessarily harsh. There’s room for improvement, especially since the hotel has just rebranded to Marriott, but my experience was nowhere near one star. Given time and continued adjustments, I’m confident it can meet full Marriott expectations.
