Kobe Plaza Hotel

We spent two nights here and had a really nice stay. The room was a lovely renewal room, with two big beds and a huge sofa that I think could turn into a sofa bed. The beds were very comfortable, and I could even watch my YouTube account on the TV, which I'd never managed in a hotel before. They had complimentary coffee, tea, and popsicles for guests. Breakfast was decent, and they put out different food on each of the two mornings. I'd definitely recommend the place.

The location is hard to beat, right opposite Motomachi train station in central Kobe, about one or two stops from Sennomiya and Kobe station. Reception was helpful, check-in was simple, and they stored my bags when I arrived early. They also offered early check-in for an hourly fee between 12pm and 3pm. The windows are fake, but they did a good job using lights to suggest daylight. The room was clean and a good size, with the essentials provided and a comfortable bed. The bathroom had enough space, a strong shower, and good shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. I appreciated the study desk, side sofa, and movable little table. The desk works for makeup too, since the mirror has a light, and the full-length mirror is in a practical spot.

Getting around was easy, since the hotel is downtown and close to the station. The outside looks tasteful and matches the photos, and the room was clean and roomy enough to open two suitcases comfortably. The downsides were hard to ignore. At this price, I expected a real window, but the window is fake and opening the curtains just shows a light. Sound carries badly too. I often heard footsteps from upstairs, people talking, and doors closing outside, and the noise even woke me up. They don't provide bottled water.

A good hotel with a nice room and lounge. There are lots of halal food places near the hotel.
