The room cost 28,000 yen for two people without meals. Finding the inn was a little tricky because the roads are narrow, but navigation got us there. I couldn't spot the parking lot when we arrived, so I called, and someone kindly came outside to show us where it was. The room had an old-fashioned feel and was spacious and nice, probably a good size for a family of four. I didn't use the large public bath. The indoor bath looked old and not very clean, which made me feel uneasy.

I was invited to a banquet here. Honestly, the food quality was quite a challenge, lol, but having a good time matters most. Thanks for the meal. The inn seems very historic and is about a 10-minute walk from Suma Station. I wonder what sort of guests usually come here. Maybe people stop by before heading to the beach in Suma.

The food was delicious, the staff attentive, and I had a great time despite a few room gripes. The balcony view varied, with mountains, a pond, and a temple, not just the building. You can use the bath in your room or the large public bath on the fifth floor. The Japanese-style room was very spacious, with a separate toilet and bathroom. Getting there by car was easy from the highway, but the inn is tucked into a residential area, so it can be hard to find. The roads are narrow, too. A couple of things bothered me. The bath shampoo smelled so awful I felt like I might throw up if I smelled it directly. I wouldn't recommend using it, though I admit I should've brought my own shampoo. I was also a little disappointed there wasn't hot water in the room. If you want it for instant noodles or something, you have to ask at the counter on the first floor of the main hotel building, which is a bit of a hassle. And the pillow was high and firm, and wouldn't give much. That's personal preference, but I slept more comfortably using a zabuton cushion as a pillow.

I stayed alone in the main building, in what seemed to be a room for four because there were slippers for four people. I'd heard the building was old, but the large Japanese-style room felt creepy. The ceiling stains and flickering fluorescent lights kept me from sleeping, even with the lights and TV on all night. A new air purifier ran full blast, though, and helped keep the strange smells down. There was no large public bath in the main building, so I had to go next door to the new building, or use the room bath, which I did reluctantly. It wasn't very clean, and a sign said the water wasn't for drinking, so even brushing my teeth made me nervous. It was a tough stay on my own. If you like historic buildings and scary things, you might enjoy it.

The food was delicious. After praying at Suma-dera Temple, just a short walk away, I found a lovely pond in the park next to it. The temple itself is enjoyable for little kids and older people alike.
