Arima Onsen Miyukiso Hanamusubi

We spent two nights here for a celebration and honeymoon, and the kaiseki was a highlight: generous portions, delicious food, fresh ingredients and attractive presentation. The second night's sukiyaki came with 12 pieces of Kobe beef and felt like good value. Breakfast was good too, and the complimentary coffee and snacks were premium quality. Our suite had a private “kin no yu” hot spring tub with a timer. The room had no view, and during a soak we had to leave the bathroom door open because the steam got too hot otherwise. The tatami was clean, and the kimono was comfortable and good for photos. The spa facilities for men and women were clean and very good, while the other amenities felt pretty standard. Staff were polite and sincere, though their English was limited. The main street is only a seven-minute walk away. I'd highly recommend it.

The kaiseki meals included in our stay were beautifully presented, and the onsen in our room was more than enough for us. Staff were attentive and helpful throughout. We were picked up promptly at the bus terminal, and our night there was a wonderful experience.

The dinner and breakfast were both great, and the two public baths are amazing. You can try both Gold and Silver spring water, and the baths were rarely crowded. There's also a private bath you can rent for 2,200 yen per person for 45 minutes, with at least two people required. The hotel has fewer than 40 rooms. Staff could manage basic English, and information was available in English. It's at the top of a hill, with a free shuttle from the bus stop or train station. If needed, the tourist information center can call the hotel. The shops are a short walk away.

For non-guests using the spa, payment is cash only. The public spa is 1,650 yen per adult. There's also a family spa area, which costs 4,400 yen each for 40 minutes.
