The staff were really friendly, which was a shame because the noise was awful. The hotel faces a busy road, and I could hear cars, motorcycles, and people talking below, even late at night. I've never stayed anywhere noisier. The windows are just single pane, so they don't keep out sound or protect much against the temperature outside.

We rented an entire apartment room in Kobe through Airbnb for $23 per person per day. It came with a bedroom, living room, kitchen equipment including a stove, microwave, and fridge, plus a bathroom and portable Wi-Fi with unlimited access. The Airbnb app is legal now.
