The hotel staff were all kind and very polite. It's a traditional-style Japanese hotel, good enough for a stay. The city center and a couple of historic spots are about a ten-minute walk away.

The river view alone was gorgeous, and the staff were wonderful. We also loved the onsen and the beautiful, spacious tatami rooms, which were brand new. They even found us a box and tape so we could pack some shopping to send back to Colorado. Highly recommend this vintage hotel.

We were really disappointed and won't stay here again. The rooms felt rundown and dated, and ours was dirty, including the thermos and bedding. When I reported the problems, the staff didn't apologize. Ms. Hirano was kind, but the others didn't seem friendly. It's expensive, and although a restaurant and karaoke were said to be available, neither was there. Parking is down the street and costs 700 yen per night. That's reasonable, but no one mentioned the fee when they directed us there. I'd recommend finding another hotel.

The staff's heartfelt service made it easy to unwind after a tiring trip, and the hospitality felt close to what you'd get at a traditional Japanese inn. The atmosphere is calm, and the food was very tasty. I'd recommend staying here in Kochi.

The building looks old, but the staff are all really friendly. Good value for the money, and dinner was nice too.
