Hotel Crown Hills Kofu

The view from the window was amazing, with Mount Fuji and the high mountains around Yamanashi. I liked the rooms and bathroom, and the service was good too. The hotel's location is very good.

The breakfast room becomes a three-space area during the day and evening, with a drink bar, so it's a good place to work. Wi-Fi is available, but there are no power outlets. The manga in the second-floor relaxation area was mostly older series, such as Hajime no Ippo and The Prince of Tennis. I went down for breakfast around 7:30. Nothing was completely gone, but most dishes were nearly empty, and they weren't refilled during the roughly hour I ate. Tea bags with green tea and black tea are available to take from beside the lobby amenities. The large public bath is split between men's and women's use according to a schedule, so you might not be able to use it when you want. It's easy to reach from the station, and I'd probably stay if it cost less than other hotels. I don't think it's any different in quality from other BBH hotels.

The free massage chairs on the second floor were nice. I wish there were towels to put where your head rests. The location is good, and while the building and in-room bathroom are old, the room was clean and the tub was spacious. I did find one hair left behind. It's only one, but still. I skipped the public bath because I don't know how busy it gets and don't want to go if it's crowded. Its alternating schedule is a drawback, too. Breakfast was average, and there weren't plates for refills, just bowls. At the dining room entrance, about five young hotel staff were lined up handing out plates and trays. Maybe they were trainees, but that many felt unnecessary and could be a bit awkward if you're eating alone. It would be nice if the in-room TV showed how crowded the public bath is. I guess it's okay otherwise.
