Hotel New Mifuku

The free Wi-Fi in the room was the thing I liked most. I could get in touch with my family back home, and it really helped. There's also laundry for 300 yen including drying, breakfast, and free coffee, candies, tissues, toothbrushes, shavers, shampoo, hair clips, hair ties, and lots more. Still, the room service was really disappointing. The first time I requested it, I expected cleaning, fresh towels and supplies, and garbage removal. When I got back, my luggage was open. I hadn't locked it, but it's a customer's property, so why check it? I tried room service again today to see if that would happen again, and they had only left my mug and spoon on the table, not properly put away. The customer representative also doesn't know how to speak English. So there were good things, but the service quality left a lot to be desired.

The rooms have been recently refurbished and are nicely equipped. Parking was easy, and there are good places to eat nearby.

The room was surprisingly spacious, with a comfortable bed and a separate bathroom and toilet, which made it feel bigger than a typical business hotel. Everything was very clean, and I slept well. There were plenty of amenities to choose from, and the staff were polite and helpful. With supermarkets, convenience stores, and restaurants nearby, the location worked well too. I stayed overnight and was very comfortable. It seems like a good fit for work or leisure, and I'd stay again if I'm in the area.

I couldn't find anything to complain about, and I was impressed by how well everyone did their part, from the manager and front desk to the person packing the sweets and the cleaning staff. I've stayed at hotels all over the country for work, but I rarely give a perfect rating, and I think this is the first time in several years. The room was clean and well kept, with the bath and toilet separate, plenty of outlets where you need them, and even a charging cable. There was a wide choice of amenities on the first floor, plus a welcome drink and manga, all neatly arranged. The room had office-style chairs, so they weren't one of those dirty seats you sometimes get. Sweets and a 2-liter bottle of water were both 100 yen. I bought the sweets, and they were a great choice. There's lots of parking and easy access, with supermarkets, convenience stores, and restaurants close by. The front desk staff were polite and helpful. I couldn't have breakfast because of work, but I'd definitely come back next time I'm in Shiga.
