Oyado Miyako Kokonoe

I came last April with my dog. The building looked old from outside, and at first I wasn't impressed, but inside I was immediately transported to another world with a Taisho-era romantic feel. Dinner was delicious, and I left feeling full and happy. I took a walk nearby in the morning and loved the beautiful nature, fresh air, and gorgeous flowers. I'd like to come back. Thanks so much!

The room felt pretty average, and the old tatami and barely trickling shower showed the age of the facilities. We picked the place because it accepts pets. The staff member who helped us was from overseas and clearly put a lot of care into the job, with really good service. That went a long way toward making up for the dated facilities.

The meals were generous and delicious, and the customer service was excellent. I also loved the doctor fish. Coffee, rice, and barley shochu were free, though we still went to the supermarket for supplies. Around the inn, there isn't much within walking distance beyond a small station shop and a supermarket, but the inn does sell souvenir sweets and assorted goods and has vending machines. We came with my mother and our dog. The front desk has a pleasant renovated feel, though the old building's floors creak. Our room was about 10 tatami mats, and I was surprised we had to lay out our own futons. There was just one shower in each bath area, and the water pressure was weak, so rinsing took ages. For a pet-friendly place, the provisions were limited to a paw-wiping towel at the entrance and a few cages. Would I come back? Maybe not.

Our dog settled in comfortably, and we felt just as at home. The food was really delicious, too. This was our second visit, and the building is old, but the staff's thoughtfulness still impresses me. The staff members from overseas greeted us with big smiles. If you're after a truly relaxing stay, this place lets you unwind like you're at home. We'll definitely return.
