Yuyado Nakayama

We chose this old-fashioned onsen hotel because it’s close to the bus stop for Senjōjiki Cirque. It’s kept very clean and feels kind of new in that respect. Booking through the official website was cheaper and included free breakfast. There were lots of choices at breakfast, and they asked us to pick a time slot at check-in. The service was nice. They put your name on both the shoe box and the room tag. Our room was tatami style, acceptable but not especially comfortable, and had a private toilet. There’s no lift, so you need to handle your own luggage, though the staff were always happy to help carry some of our things. If you’re coming in winter, get snow tyres. There was still heavy snow in late March.
