Guesthouse Mikkaichi - Hostel

We had a good evening with local Japanese residents, and the place is under ten minutes from the station. Rojo Onsen is also nearby, about a ten-minute walk, and costs 490 yen per person. Just keep in mind that walking back and forth can be cold.

The employees were nice.

There are no restaurants or convenience stores within 100 meters, not even Lawson, FamilyMart, or 7-Eleven. This is in western Komatsu, while the more developed part of town is currently southeast. The staff don't speak English, and they said guests generally can't leave luggage there ahead of time, which is a little disappointing. In the room, the lockers don't lock, and there are no bedside lamps. The men's and women's bathrooms are separate, with two shower stalls in each. The bathroom itself is spacious and has good water pressure. There's also a free washing machine, though it's quite old. The kitchen has a washing machine, a water heater, an oven, and other cooking appliances. Wi-Fi coverage has dead zones where it drops, freezes, or seems too slow. And a father and his kids checked in while I was there and made an incredible amount of noise. This is a guesthouse, not their home.
