There isn't a bus or train within walking distance, so you'll need a taxi to get to and from the hotel. The hotel and town both seemed old and in need of renovation in places, but my room was clean, there was no smoke smell, and the service was good. Check-in and checkout were easy, so it worked well for me.

The room and bathroom were a bit small, but everything else was good. It's one of the hotels closest to Komatsu Airport, with several convenience shops nearby. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and always smiling.

The hot spring was the highlight for me. The water flows freely from the source, and its slightly salty character made it fantastic. There's also a huge parking lot, and they accept credit cards along with almost every kind of electronic money and QR code payment. This is Route-inn Grantia in Komatsu, Ishikawa Prefecture. Grantia seems a step above the usual Route-inn hotels, though I didn't get that upper-class feeling while staying in the annex. I'd like to try the main building next time.

My Narita to Komatsu flight was going to be delayed, so I booked at the last minute. Even though the online listing only showed smoking rooms, the staff kindly moved me to a non-smoking one. The room felt very new, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom had great water pressure. I'd stay again for the price.

It's a long way from central Komatsu, and you'll need a translation app.
