The baths were gorgeous and so peaceful, and I only wish we'd had more time there. This was our first onsen ryokan stay, and it ended up being my favorite part of the family trip to Japan. From arrival, the staff were kind and attentive. They checked us in and showed us to rooms where our bags were already waiting. The rooms felt cozy and had what we needed. Dinner was amazing, and breakfast the next morning was just as good. They handled the two vegetarians in our group perfectly. I'd happily recommend it for a quiet getaway.

The staff made the stay feel special, even lending us electric bikes for a ride through the woods to a Buddhist temple built into the cliffside. We won't forget that trip. Our Japanese-style room felt like we were sleeping up in the trees, and the onsen was just right. There was so much delicious food at both dinner and breakfast, including on our first night. Even the morning coffee at the reception counter came with a little vase of flowers and a chocolate. Such lovely care in the details. Magical from beginning to end.

Beautiful, quiet surroundings, and the meals were delicious, made with fresh ingredients. There were apples floating in the onsen.

We loved both meals, especially all the ways they worked apples into the food, and the onsen was quiet and lovely. The floating apples in December were a highlight. Sitting in the hot bath with the cold air outside felt amazing. The building has a lot of character. We really liked the lobby and interior, with stories and little details in every corner, and the history going back over 120 years was fascinating. The landlady came by to greet us and see how we were doing, and the staff were kind and helpful. Our traditional room was on the second floor. There wasn't a toilet in the room, and the sink couldn't be used in winter. The public toilet was nearby, though the sink outside it had a strong smell from the pipes. We had a wonderful stay. Thank you.

A quiet, beautiful hot spring getaway in the Komoro area, with a history stretching back a couple hundred years. The owner, 5th-generation innkeeper, rides a motorbike 🏍. I'd definitely come back.
