I haven't stayed overnight here, but I went in as a visitor to use the public bath, and it was great. It's small and simple, with everything you need. Visitors can use it after 16:30; the ¥2000 fee includes towels.

The breakfast is all-you-can-eat, and there are local dishes to try. There's also a nice, large public bath and a free live show with local singers performing local music. It was fun, definitely worth seeing!

The rooms were decent, and the other concierge staff were friendly and helpful with reservations. I also liked the programme that lets you skip full housekeeping in return for credits to spend at the hotel. But when I asked the male concierge about arranging a birthday cake for my boyfriend's birthday during our stay, he just told me to order one from a nearby cafe. That wasn't helpful, and I was shocked.

The staff were really friendly and accommodating. It's centrally located, though on windy or rainy days you'll need a car or taxi to get around. I'd be happy to stay again.

We booked without knowing much about this hotel, and it turned out to be a lovely surprise. Our room for three actually had three proper beds, not an extra sofa bed, which is rare. The staff were very helpful, and there's a tour desk, a great cafe with cakes we loved, and two good restaurants at fair prices. The third restaurant was closed during our visit. It earned five stars from us. I even got over the lack of free bottled water in the room, something I'd got used to on the trip. That was a sacrifice I could live with.
