The owner has made this a really unusual, Ghibli-like homestay, and the large accommodation has everything needed for a comfortable stay. Check-in is self-service, with enough details from the owner ahead of time. The location is the main drawback: it's next to a warehouse, with tractors and other farm vehicles parked across the road, so it doesn't feel set among the farmlands. The view improves if you walk about 300-400m away. There's also a quirky Thai-style hut outside, along with the owner's little tuk tuk.

You can see how much effort and love went into building this beautiful, cozy, one-of-a-kind house. I really liked the craftsmanship and all the little details. Big trucks passing by make the house shake in the morning and during the day, though it was fine at night. I'd still recommend staying here because the house is worth it, and I'd come back if I were in the area again. Thank you for all your amazing work 🙇♀️

The hosts made me feel like part of their family from the start. Their kindness and generosity are what keep bringing me back to Tida House, and leaving always makes me wish I could stay longer. The house itself, built by the hosts, is full of warmth and charm, with cozy interiors and details that bring Studio Ghibli scenes to mind. It feels like a dreamlike place where time slows down, and every visit becomes a memory I treasure. If you're looking for a stay that feels truly transformative, I urge you to experience it for yourself. Words don't quite capture what makes this place special.

Yuya was such a patient, kind, and generous host. We had long, lovely conversations with him and left feeling inspired and heartened. We spent part of our honeymoon at Tida house, and the handmade straw house was a joy to stay in, with so many thoughtful details and beautiful touches. The place was very clean and the amenities were great. Its location also worked well for visiting nearby sights like Shiretoko, Lake Kussharo, and Mount Meakan. For a bigger group or family, I recommend Yuya's other project, Mauna Lani, a beautiful cabin with an impressive view. We hope to visit again someday. Thanks, Yuya, you were the best. Hope we cross paths again soon!

The bathroom is outside the front door, so you have to step outdoors to get to it. That little inconvenience is easier to live with because the bathroom is just as cute and unusually designed as the rest of the place. This is the most unique lodging I've ever stayed in, a truly magical home that feels like living in Totoro's home, or as close as you might get to living in a Ghibli museum. There are hours of little easter eggs and distinctive features to discover throughout the house and outside.
