NIPPONIA Kosuge Village

The beds were probably the most comfortable I've had while traveling in Japan, and the rooms were way beyond what I expected. The food was top notch, and the staff were helpful and friendly. I enjoyed walking around the village, where there was plenty to do and people were lovely. If, like me, you want a break from the crowds and a chance to visit a small town, this is a really unique way to experience Japan. I highly recommend it.

We loved getting to know the small town of Kosuge and sampling its local produce and specialties. The quiet and closeness to nature made this remote, somewhat isolated place restful and enjoyable. The staff, food, room, main house, and natural surroundings were all fantastic. We left feeling rested and invigorated, and hope to return.

We stayed in the Garden View suite, and it was worth every penny. The experience felt like far more than the price suggested. The architecture, landscape, and interiors are outstanding if you care about design, and the quiet town was incredibly peaceful. The staff's warmth and attention to detail made the stay feel magical. They seemed to anticipate what we needed, and the food was INCREDIBLE. We tried Fujinosuke, a cross between Rainbow Trout and King Salmon, and breakfast impressed us just as much. Since I was celebrating my birthday, they also asked whether I'd like a special fruit plate. Definitely choose that if it's available. I could go on about every detail, but anyone looking for an unforgettable stay should book this. I plan to return to Japan just to stay here again. We came back with friends for a second trip, inspired by what we shared from our first family visit in November 2024. The place, people, and food were amazing again. Chef Owa, thank you for meals we won't forget. We'll be back.
